What is HypnoBirting/
It is built on the philosophy that women’s bodies are built to birth. Birth is a totally natural thing that can be achieved with minimal intervention if the birth goes smoothly. To explore this belief the HypnoBirthing course provides breathing and relaxation techniques along with information that equips the birthing mum and birth companion to travel through this incredible journey together in the most relaxed and comfortable way possible.
HypnoBirthing mums have varying experiences but I have yet to meet one that hasn’t felt empowered after the birth of their child and believed that HypnoBirthing helped them in some way to manage their experience of birth.
What will the HypnoBirthing course do/offer?
It will:
- Help mum and birth companion to make choices about the kind of birth you’d like to have: where to have it? how to manage the birthing environment and people in it? what assistance you can receive during the birth?
- Give mum and birth companion a good understanding of the physiology of birth and how the mind and body can work more effectively to make the birth as comfortable and easy as possible
- Provide mum and birth companion with relaxation and breathing techniques to help the birthing mum remain as relaxed and comfortable as possible during the birth
Cost
£295 per couple, this includes a book and relaxation CD. Deducting book and CD costs this means that each 2 hour session would cost £55 per couple (£27 per person for 2 hours tuition).
Time
- It is good to start classes around week 30-32 weeks. You don’t want to start too early so you forget or too late so you feel rushed.
- The course takes a minimum of 4/5 sessions lasting 2-2.5hrs - depending on how quickly we are able to move through the material. Sessions are arranged at convenient times for the individual couple or group.
